Explanation
Many electricity meters have a readout that says something like:
7'000 revolutions per kWh (a disk revolving)
10'000 pulses per kWh (a flashing light, perhaps infrared)
On this page, I call them beats (revolutions, pulses, whatever).
Below, you can calculate the
current
power draw using these beats, plus some extrapolations that you might (not) want.
Tips:
Use your phone camera to see infrared pulses (most of the time).
Use split-screen mode to see both the camera and this website at the same time (it depends per Android version how to do this).
